So I take advantage of this wonderful 50% Off Criterion DVD sale at Barnes and Noble, which actually makes Criterion movies .... still way overpriced, but that's another topic.

Anyway, among the DVDs I gobbled at the sale was a copy of Sam Fuller's White Dog. I have wanted to see this movie for some time, mainly for completist sake as I have seen a lot of Fuller's movies recently. (Oddly enough not Shock Corridor or Pickup on South Street, but I digress.)

Anyway, in a very brief scene in which Kristi McNichol, playing an actress, is getting ready for her screen test, suddenly the movie director turns around and I exclaim, "Holy 1upmushroom, it's Paul Bartel!"

And just like that, he was gone. But he does that to me on occasion, just shows up suddenly on screen and disappears.

Weird.
