 Help Identifying a Kaiju
Greetings,
At the beginning of Godzilla: Final Wars there is a smattering of cutscenes from old Kaiju flicks.
One of these seconds long shots has what looks like a upright giant squid standing on his tentacles.
I have a dim memory form an old book about B-Movies (name and author unknonw) that showed the same shot, and referred to this creature as Gonga the Atomic squid. I hae a feeling he was a monster in Destroy All Monsters, but I am not sure.
Who is this monster, and what movie can I see him in?

YOG, MONSTER FROM SPACE, IIRC. alien space cloud thingy embiggens south sea ocean beasties, and havoc ensues. It's cool.

Yeah, that's Yog, Monster from Space, alright. The DVD edition uses the alternate title Space Amoeba, though. As for the cuttlekaiju itself, its name is Gezora.

He's also one of the two first bosses in the old NES Godzilla game (the other being Moguera). Every time I watch Final Wars lately it occurs to me that a pop-up-video style annotation guide would work well for the whole film.

She's lying. You should still see it, but you will regret it.

I am disappointed that they didn't do more with Legendary Super-Kicker Hwang Jang Lee.
