Really, you liked the ep? I dunno, I thought they tried valiantly, at least at first, but the film was just so overpoweringly bad that it left the realm of entertainment entirely - even on a "this is so bad, let's rip it to shreds" kind of level - and just became unspeakably depressing.

That's cool; I just tend to enjoy the super painful eps the most. I'm not sure why, exactly. There's no way in hell I'd watch the movie un-MSTied, though.

I was trying to post this point earlier, but with regard to Blood Feast, I think it is better suited to viewing among a crowd of people - preferably a mixture of game newbies with others that appreciate it for what it is. I don't know if I could ever like the movie on a casual viewing by myself. I don't imagine that's the proper environment for it at all.

You might have a point here. The first time I watched it it was a group of four people, and 2 of them were game newbies. The second time it was just me and my-then girlfriend, who was something of a hardcore bad movie fan (long time BMMBers might remember her, actually, Nicolemite). It was defiintely more fun with the group.

Post Re: Blood Feast - Bad taste
I finally saw Blood Feast. I put my previous comment to the test and I am right. All I could think is how much more fun this badly acted schlock would be among a B-fest crew.

It was laughably bad - in some cases, as in Fuad Ramses himself - seemingly intentionally so. I wish I could show this to a younger audience who would not know Herschell Gordin Lewis' name. I am curious how they would react. The slow lingering camera work over the bodies, especially the famous last gore masterpiece with the girl lying on her front and the blood spilled so meticulously. That and the slow grabbing and handling of organs.

Gore of that like is, honestly, more graphic than some of the bloodier movies around this time.

Still it says something that the DVD commentary was more entertaining than the actual movie. Do not see this one alone, not because its disturbing, but because its less fun.

I have to agree with the original poster...there was absolutely NOTHING that stood out about Blood Feast to me...other than that ridiculous line about the Egyptian Feast. I suppose it would interesting for fans of gore for it's historical purposes...but I watch bad movies to be amused and entertaining...and in that regard it fell short.
