Post Game of Death: Where Can I Find It?
Can anyone tell me where to find a copy of this 1979 (approx.) release?
It's a film literally built around the footage of a still-living Bruce Lee fighting
Kareem-Abdul Jabbar to the death at the film's climax; the Lee character is
portrayed by some other Asian actor during the majority of the film....in some
sequences, an image of Lee's face is crudely superimposed over that stand-in's
own!

Mind-boggling in its phoniness....for bad-Asian-film completists (like me) only.

I got a boxed set at Wal-Mart containing Bruce Lee's entire filmography - in Blu-Ray and regular DVD no less. The boxed set even contained the Game of Death 2 about which the less said the better.

Here is the set I bought from Wally World.

I would not buy it new. You're better off betting it used. But it has everything you want.

It is simply tragic what happened early in with Game of Death because all the climactic fight footage featuring Bruce is the greatest he ever filmed. But the rest - holy crap....

The truly bizarre part is that Robert Clouse (or whoever really made Game of Death) edited so much out of the little bit of real Bruce Lee footage they had, to the point that the fight scenes don't really make sense. From the "finished" version of the movie it's tough to tell that Bruce beats Kareem by blinding the man's sensitive eyes with sunlight.

Luckily all of the fight footage Bruce Lee shot for Game of Death is included as an extra on the Enter the Dragon Blu-ray.

Very little to add beyond I love Game of Death II. It has Roy Horan eating a raw deer and Hwang Jang Lee in an underground Bond villain lair.

I'm pretty sure he edited the fights the way he did because James Tien and the other guy could be seen in a number of the shots, and it had been established earlier in the movie that James Tien's character had been killed.

Thanks, my efforts to resist replacing all my existing DVDs with Blu-ray is dealt another fatal blow.
