It's getting pretty hard to find blank audio CD-Rs in the wild as well.

Now that's a real pisser, because conversion to CD is the only way to make downloaded music playable on my equipment in the event that it does finally stop sucking.

My grind-out-a-disc-in-five-minutes duplicator was made by a company called Discmakers. They also sold blank discs, and AFAIK they still offer the digital audio ones in packs of 100.

[quote="Bergerjacques"]Just as an aside, for proof that there is an even a speed metal/punk side to Bluegrass music (sometimes referred to as the punk side of country), check out Trampled by Turtles albums Duluth and Palomino (see Bro Rag for confirmation of this opinion.) They are getting ready to come out with a new one soon. They claim themselves as more a gypsy band than bluegrass (they still use the same instrumentation as bluegrass, but yeah, you can see what they mean. This is definitely music for campfires and olive skinned men spinning on one leg surrounded by gaudy colored tents.)[quote]

They do indeed shred like the dickens. I can't see the gypsy influence, unless they're talking more their attitude toward touring and storytelling rather than musical style, though. I picked up Palomino mistakenly filed in the rock section at Best Buy for dirt cheap. It's an awesome record. You get a couple of slow, super-bleak and depressing songs, and just when you're about ready to slam your car into the nearest median barrier and end it all, you get a blast of high-speed angry picking and fiddle shredding that would do Gary Holt proud.

Picked up a DVD of Flash Point at the supermarket last night.

Rented snowshoes. Snuck into the back of the Royal Gorge cross-country ski area, which is closed for the season though still snowy. And we saw tracks in the snow that might well have been a mountain lion.

It was marked down from R$ 30 (about 15 USD or so) to R$ 11 (about 5 USD), so I couldn't NOT buy it.

Not a purchase, but I received a copy of Donnie Yen's 14 Blades in the mail today as a late b-day present from a friend.

I jhst plugged in my new terabyte drive and, perhaps unnecessarily, started a full non-quick format. Boy is it not quick -- after half an hour, the progress reads 2%. Guess I'll check if it's done in the morning.

[update] Less than 40% done at 8 am; it could well go past midnight.

Every time you post here, Evangelion, I get insanely curious as to how much space your collection of manga and DVDs takes up.

Oh tell me about it! :D

Right now I have 3 shelves dedicated to DVDs (both anime and not...though the anime side is about three times as big) covering about 100 inches in length of wall, and 3 shelves for all my books. I was recently able to squeeze some more room out of my DVD shelves by moving any of my series that are in large chip-board boxes to the top of my shelves. All I can say is thank god that most US companies today release series in 12/13 episode season sets rather then 3-5 episode volumes like they used to. Though I still love those old fashion chipboard boxes

Please bear in mind that I don't own anything Dragonball related.

My manga collection is a bit more problematic. Even after stacking most of A-K and T-X stuff horizontally, I'm getting pretty close to running out of room.

I assume that if you had the Dragonball Z series on VHS, you'd need tesseract technology (or whatever it's called in Ultraviolet) in order to have space for it.
