Trailer for Dreamworks' animated Rise of the Guardians...

http://www.imdb.com/list/sMjedvGDd8U/#play-all

Okay, this looks kind of bad ass. I like how they seem to be going for an actual fantasy adventure feel with this.

Here's the FULL Total Recall 2012 trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GljhR5rk5eY

Looks like the plot and parts of the script of the first got mixed in a blender with images from Minority Report.

Sigh. Len Weisman, another technically talented hack without an original idea in his head. Which would be fine except he doesn't seem to have any sense of what a movie needs to succeed story-wise either. See: turning John McClane into a gravity-defying Neo-esque superhero.

The sad thing is, you can defend a Total Recall remake on the merits, since Ah-nold was always ludicrous casting for the role of "average guy who discovers he's Jason Bourne" and there was a lot of general stupidity in that movie; a more serious and intelligent take on the idea would be welcome. This doesn't look like it.

But the big question is - will there be a three-breasted hooker?

Restricted, red-band trailer for Ted, the first live action comedy from Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGW5gpMU9yo

Mark Wahlberg plays a guy whose best friend is his teddy bear, who was brought to life after a childhood wish, and is voiced by MacFarlane. Apparently, the plot will have to do with Wahlberg falling in love for the first time, and having to decide between a real adult life, or staying with his living teddy bear friend.

The trailer seems to suggest that the bear is accepted in society, as he apparently holds down a job at a grocery store, and hits on women, who don't seem the least bit off-put that they're being hit on by a foul-mouthed teddy bear.

All in all, I do kind of like the idea (although it does bring back some bad memories of Drop Dead Fred), but I just don't really laugh at this trailer. I do smile a couple times. Want this one to work. We'll see.

Despite everything, I kind of suspect that this might be more my cup of tea than the Ahnuld version ever was.

Saw this in 3D before Titanic. I got more chills watching this than the film that followed. The 3D animation looks jaw-dropping. Right now only one fantasy film has me more excited this year. (Hobbit) Also, gotta say this is how you do celebrity voice casting. Baldwin's recognizable but he sounds like he's giving one helluva performance.

I appreciate the apparent decision to make Santa nordic.

There's a new Simon Pegg movie called A Fantastic Fear of Everything. Despite Pegg's poor non-Edgar-Wright track record, this looks pretty amazing.
