So I've been pretty adamant about keeping the ability to post pictures and videos turned off on the BMMB -- I like the fact that the conversation isn't polluted by animated GIFs and 400-pixel high signatures. But I thought I'd ask you guys what you prefer.

I'd be down with some images, as it's sometimes a flow-breaker to have to reference something, then come back to the conversation. But it'd also be nice if in-line images first showed up as thumbnails, so if you didn't want the giant image cluttering the place, you don't have to click on it. And the ability to have sig images is fine, as long as there's a way to turn them off also

Personally. I'd rather we whipped off missives to each other using quills and ink which are hand carried to each member by reliable boy pages who work for tuppence.

As I am a mod, though, I'll go with the general will of the membership.

I like the "subforum that allows pictures" option. I feel like the ability to post actual pictures in posts or signatures in every subforum would render the Board a complete mess in short order.

I, too, like the picture-enabled subforum idea. It would add a bit of potentially useful flexibility without encouraging the hideousness that one sees so often on other boards.

I don't want to have LOLcats and nudity in every thread. I don't mind there being a LOLcat / NSFW forum, because I could avoid that one when I'm at work.

To Repeat what Tim said: There was a Godzilla forum whose moderator had an image of two anime girls kissing show up in every post. That wouldn't be good for me here.

Yeah, I voted the second option too. Pictures and video can be fine, in moderation but left unchecked lead to crawling chaos.

I hate to be...well...UPPITY, but if you consider this board's clientele, would it really become some sort of miserable lolcat-infested hive of scum and photoshoppery? Most folks that post here aren't exactly the type. And...hell, the ones who *do* post regularly are snippy enough that such behavior would eventually be flamed down

I went for the sub-forum idea, because occasionally you want to post a pic of Caroline Munro somewhere it'll be appreciated.

If we do this, can we upload our own pics and stuff, because the pics I'd want to upload of Caroline Munroe do not currently exist on the web.

I'm also curious what cute nanny-photo would appear to censor anything too graphic. The visual One-up-Mushroom.

I'm all for Words-only. I like written wit over photo-shopped wit.

Sub-forum, maybe (just maybe) with the occasional unobtrusive thumbnail[s]. Keep it simple to start, leave the art gallery for those who may wish to dig deeper. If they dare....
