Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
You know, I would go on about how superhero movie sequels too often make the huge mistake of trying to do too much in one movie, and how effectively balancing Tony fighting a vengeance-crazed Russian supervillain, the U.S. government's attempts to take his armor, Rhodes inevitably betraying him, then being betrayed by the military, and finally having to team up with him to fight off mass-produced power suits, to say nothing of romantic subplots and Black WIdow, is an impossible task. But I won't. Because that trailer was badass.

Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
Guess I'm the lone dissenter. There was nothing in that trailer that interested me one iota. But then, besides Jeff Bridges, I didn't find much to enjoy about number one, too.

Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
I like the scavenger-tech look of the Whiplash armor, honestly. It's another really, really smart guy building something to hurt people out of begged, borrowed and repurposed materials (and it looks like you need to have a fusion reactor implanted in your chest in order to power the Iron Man tech, which means Don Cheadle is probably going to get one put in for this film). I like that Tony Stark is trying to change the world for the better, and that he will have to account for all the bullets and bombs that his father--and he--sold before his change of heart. I like that Pepper and Tony are apparently still together at the start of the film. I like the shot of Mickey Rourke slicing the front end of a Formula 1 car off with one hit. But what I really liked was the five or six seconds of TOTAL ROBOT WAR at the end of the trailer.

Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
You suppose Pepper will have a personality and some self-esteem this time around?

I thought she had a personality and self-esteem in the first one. I wasn't blown away by Iron Man, but Pepper was one of the things I really liked about it.

Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
I'm not sure I'm on board for Whiplash, but the rest of it looked pretty damned good. But then I found the first one to be enjoyable beyond Bridges (though damn if I won't miss him in this one).

Re: Revenge From Beyond the Trailer Thread
There must be some sort of totally surprising, confusing, and unexplained phsyiological event that happens to Tony Iommi when a million fanboy-ons (of which I'm included) happen during the playing of that and the first Iron Man trailers. BEND THAT STRING TONY! BEND IT!!!

All I will say about the Iron Man 2 trailer is that it's convinced me I made the right decision to take a paid vacation day from work come May 7th.
