old black and white one from my youth...
trying to figure what movie this is or did i imagine it.
the villain was an older man who always wore a black over coat and walked with the aid of two crutches or maybe canes.
in the end he takes off the overcoat and you finally see that he is the monster. he has the head of a man but from the neck down the body of a vulture... anyone?

Re: old black and white one from my youth...
This movie scared the p**p out of me when I was a kid. Haven't seen it in years but I remember some very effective and atmospheric scenes in it...particularly people standing all alone when suddenly they get lifted away by 2 huge talons landing on their shoulders. Still makes me shudder.

Re: old black and white one from my youth...
I remember watching this on TNT back in the MonsterVision days on a line up that included Jan Michael Vincent's Shadow of the Hawk and another one, whose name escapes me at the moment, about a boy who dreams up just upping and taking flight (the name of the film is the name of the main character).
EDIT: The name of the film I'm thinking of is Brewster McCloud.

heh. Recently Shadow of the Hawk was a recent answer to a movie search question.
But man, was brewster maccloud a weird damn film. I had almost forgot it, as it's filed under "weird damn crap Choco watched back when he'd rent any title from the mom and pop video store"

Maybe THE VULTURE? Brodrick Crawford is a birdman who kills. B@W and it takes place in England, IIRC.
