 Captain Lou Albano passes away
ObituaryAlbano was always one of those guys of the Rock N' Wrestling era that I loved to hate. Spazzy and loud, you certainly couldn't ignore the guy. One of those guys born to be a manager. He also, somehow, made a pretty good Mario I figured he'd been in enough movies (especially B-grade like Body Slam) that he should get Coffee House recognition.

Hey, just for the Cindy Lauper videos he deserves recognition. Goodnight Captain Lou. You were pretty awesome.

Re: Captain Lou Albano passes away
He had one of the best gimmicks in wrestling history: "Crazy uncle". Rest in peace, Captain Lou.

Captain Lou will be missed. I'm wearing a black rubber band in my goatee by way of tribute....

I will do the Mario in his honor. (And yes, sad enough, I still remember how to do that dance, and the words to that ending theme song.)

With little more than a vague recollection of a rubber band plant skit (don't ask) on Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, so I'll point you towards someone else's memories on working with a fairly well-respected man.

Yes, the "crazy uncle" angle was priceless...plus, he was the inspiration for one of NRBQ's better albums, Lou and the QvideoI loved Cap'n Lou. And when you hit your knees tonight, you should ask God to love him, too.
